Welcome to Tom’s Trains! This site is where I post updates about what I’m working on in the world of model railways. I’ve been modelling in 4mm scale on and off for around 15 years now. I’m interested in most periods of UK railway history, with my collection of rolling stock ranging from the 1920s to the present day.
In my day-to-day life I work a lot with electronics and software development, and I like to apply these skills to my modelling. I’m currently working on a mobile app for JMRI control, and electronics feature quite prominently on my layouts and in my rolling stock projects.
My big project at the moment is my newest layout Weybourne, a 4mm scale Southern region terminus set near the end of the steam era.
